AUSTIN, Texas – Kevin Konfederak from Georgia Gwinnett College and Christina Klouda from University of the Cumberlands headline the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America® College Division Men’s and Women’s At-Large Teams, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
 
The Google Cloud Academic All-America® College Division At-Large Teams includes student-athletes from NAIA, Canadian and two-year institutions.
 
The at-large program for the CoSIDA Academic All-America® program includes the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis, water polo for both men and women; bowling, crew and field hockey for women; and volleyball and wrestling for men.
 
Konfederak took the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America® of the Year accolade for the men’s at-large team. Konfederak, a senior men’s tennis player from Buenos Aires, Argentina, boasts of a 4.00 cumulative GPA, majoring in business marketing.
 
The Grizzlies’ top player, Konfederak was undefeated in dual matches in singles and doubles player during the spring season as he was named the 2018 NAIA and ITA Top Senior Player of the Year. He earned first NAIA All-America team honors for the fourth consecutive season after winning the NAIA men's singles national championship. He also teamed with Berman to capture the NAIA men's doubles national title and the ITA Oracle Cup doubles championship. Konfederak helped Georgia Gwinnett win its fifth consecutive NAIA National Championship.
 
Joining Konfederak on the Google Cloud Academic All-America® College Division Men’s At-Large Team are volleyball player Victor Neves of Park University and golfer Andrew Williamson of Wayland Baptist University. All three are repeat first team members with Williamson, the 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-America® of the Year, earning his third overall first-team honor.
 
The Google Cloud Academic All-America® College Division Men’s At-Large Team produced an average GPA of 3.94 with the first team combining for an average GPA of 3.97. The team includes 11 student-athletes with 4.0 GPA and three graduate students.
 
Klouda is the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America® of the Year accolade for the women’s at-large team. A junior biochemistry major from Knoxville, Tennessee, Klouda carries a 4.0 cumulative G.P.A.
 
A swimmer for the Patriots, Klouda helped the team to its fourth-straight Mid-South Conference championship and a third-place finish at the NAIA National Championship. She finished the season as a seven-time NAIA All-American, the MSC Swimmer of the Year, and a seven-time MSC all-conference selection. Klouda finished as the national runner-up in both the 400 individual medley as well as the 200 backstroke and was part of setting four new school records. Klouda was also named the NAIA Swimmer of the Month twice.
 
Joining Klouda on the Academic All-America® College Division Women’s At-Large Team is Kristina Scott of Indiana Institute of Technology. A lacrosse player, Scott is a repeat first-team honoree and the lone returnee from last year’s at-large team.
 
The Google Cloud Academic All-America® College Division Women’s At-Large Team produced an average GPA of 3.97 with the first team combining for an average GPA of 3.99. The team includes 13 student-athletes with 4.0 GPA or higher.
