AUSTIN, Texas – California Baptist University senior wrestler Nolan Kistler and University of Indianapolis senior golfer Annika Haynes headline the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division II Men’s and Women’s At-Large teams as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Kistler and Haynes are the Google Cloud Academic All-America® of the Year for their respective teams.

The Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2017-18 Division II Academic All-America® teams program.

The at-large program for the CoSIDA Academic All-America® program includes the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis, water polo for both men and women; bowling, crew and field hockey for women; and volleyball and wrestling for men.

Kistler is a two-time Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division II At-Large first team member. Last winter, he became the first student-athlete to win the NCAA Division II Elite 90 Award for three years in a row in the same sport. A criminal justice major from Riverside, California, Kistler has a 3.99 GPA. He graduated summa cum laude from California Baptist this spring.

Kistler completes his CBU career with 93 victories, the all-time wins record for the school. He made four straight NCAA Division II championship appearances. In 2018, Kistler was the 174-pound national runner-up. He won the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) and Super Region IV individual championships twice each.

Haynes caps an amazing career by helping her UIndy Hounds win the NCAA Division II national championship for the second time in four years. The Great Lakes Valley Conference Richard F. Scharf Paragon Award winner as the league’s female athlete of the year, Haynes has a 4.00 GPA with her finance major. She joins Kistler as a 2018 NCAA Elite 90 Award winner for her sport.

In addition to her sterling 4.00 undergraduate GPA, Haynes has a 4.00 GPA in the University of Indianapolis MBA program. On the links, Haynes compiled a career-best 74.5 stroke average this season. The Oakville, Ontario, Canada, native received All-GLVC honors for the third time in her career. As a senior, Haynes posted five top-five finishes and eight top-10 showings.

Thirty-five (23 women, 12 men) student-athletes on the Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division II At-Large Teams have a 4.00 GPA. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division II Women’s At-Large First Team had an overall 3.98 GPA, while the Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division II Men’s At-Large First Team had an overall 3.95 GPA.

Nine men and nine women are repeat performers on this year’s at-large teams. Three senior men and two senior women earned Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division II At-Large recognition for third time in their respective careers. On the men’s side, Florida Southern College golfer John Coultas, Gannon University golfer Matt Barto and UC San Diego tennis player Justin Zhang are three-time honorees. For the women, Tusculum College tennis player Franziska Funke and Mercyhurst University tennis player Saioa Gomez de Segura complete the Google Cloud Academic All-America® triple play with their inclusion on this year’s first team.
