Bob Elliot played varsity basketball for four years at the University of Arizona, helping his team to records of 19-7, 22-7, 24-9 and 21-6 in 1974, ’75, ’76 and ’77 respectively. The 1975 team won the National Commissioner’s Invitational Tournament championship for their efforts and the following year the Wildcas advanced the Regional Final of the NCAA Tournament.

Elliot, who played center under the tutelage of Fred Snowden, finished his career ranked second all-time on Arizona’s scoring list after amassing 2,131 total points. He scored 677 points during the 1975 campaign, which ranked sixth on UA's single-season list.

Elliot averaged 18.7 points per game during his career, which ranked No. 2 all time. In addition to being a prolific scoring option for the Wildcats, Elliot dominated on the glass and ranked sixth all-time in rebounds per game, grabbing 9.5 boards per contest.

Elliot was selected Team MVP after his senior season in 1977 after helping lead the Wildcats to the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season. He also was also honored as an All-Western Athletic Conference (WAC) first-team selection from 1975-77.

After wrapping up his collegiate career, Elliot was drafted in the second round (42nd overall) by the Philadelphia 76ers. He played one season for Philadelphia before joining the New Jersey Nets for his final three seasons in the NBA (1979-81).

Elliot is currently a certified public accountant in Tucson, Ariz. He also serves as FOX Sports Arizona’s color analyst on Arizona Basketball cable television productions.
