Adept at handling fastballs both on the field and in the courtroom, Tracy Warren has earned a slew of awards and accomplishments starting with her standout career playing third base for The College of New Jersey (formerly known as Trenton State College). During her career there Warren led the Lions’ softball squad to a three-year record of 137-17, raking in national second place (1985), third place (1986), and a first place title (1987) finishes. With a lifetime batting average of .345 the powerhouse player was a two-time National Softball Coaches Association All-American and two-time Academic All-America honoree during her junior and senior seasons. During her senior championship season Warren was named both New Jersey and Trenton State College Female Athlete of the Year. With so many accomplishments during her softball career she was later inducted into the College’s Alumni-Athletic Hall of Fame.

Warren did not settle for success simply on the softball diamond, but gave the same degree of intensity to her academics. In 1987 she graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Broadcast Communications and earned an NCAA post-graduate scholarship she utilized by earning her M.A in journalism from Temple University, graduating magna cum laude in 1989.

After earning her masters, Warren eventually became the first female sports reporter at television stations in Philadelphia, Pa., and Grand Rapids, Mich. She was a member of the first all-female television broadcast team for the Colorado Silver Bullets baseball team for the women’s American Baseball League. To add to those accomplishments, Warren won coveted Emmy Awards for a feature she did on Michael Jordan and her work on the Philadelphia 76ers pre-game show.

After sports reporting for some time Warren decided to turn back to academics and earned her J.D. at Notre Dame Law School in 1999, specializing in litigation, labor and employment, sports contracts, sports laws, taxation, immigration and naturalization. After passing the Maryland bar exam Warren began work as a lawyer while continuing to travel around the country broadcasting softball games on weekends. In the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, she was on-air for 10 of NBC’s softball games and still works with ESPN, Fox Sports, College Sports Television and other networks broadcasting mostly women’s collegiate and professional basketball, softball, and golf.

Warren worked as an associate at a law firm in San Diego and was active in several community organizations as executive director of the San Diego International Sports Council, a board member of San Diego State University Sports MBA Advisory Board, the San Diego University of Notre Dame Alumni Club, and Habitat for Humanity. In 2006 she was named the New Jersey Women in Sports Honoree.
