Kip Corrington was inducted into the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Hall of Fame in 2003. 

Kip Corrington, who currently resides in Greensboro, N.C., was a standout football player for the Texas A&M Aggies in the mid-80s.

Corrington was a four-year letter winner as a defensive back from 1984-87 and was selected to the All-Southwest Conference team in 1986 and ’87. Prior to the 1987 season, he was named to the Preseason Playboy All-American Team. After completing his collegiate career, he played four seasons in the NFL with the Denver Broncos.

Corrington also left Texas A&M with many academic accolades to his name. He earned his bachelor’s in philosophy in 1987 with a 3.977 grade-point average and later received his master’s in psychology with a 3.927 GPA. 

He was named the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship winner and was inducted into the Verizon Academic All-American Hall of Fame. He also was honored as the inaugural America Airlines Cotton Bowl Scholar-Athlete Award winner in 1987.

Corrington graduated from Texas A&M University Medical School and completed his residency at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, N.C., where he currently runs a family practice.
