Cris Collinsworth was inducted into the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Hall of Fame in 2001. 

Cris Collinsworth was born in Dayton, Ohio, before moving to Titusville, Fla. He played quarterback for Astronaut High School before going on to play wide receiver for the University of Florida. 

During his collegiate career, Collinsworth hauled in 120 passes for 1,977 and 14 touchdowns. He also added two rushing touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown during his four years.

Collinsworth graduated from UF with a degree in accounting in 1981. He would later return to the classroom and earn a degree in law from the University of Cincinnati in 1991.
 
After completing his collegiate career, Collinsworth wasdrafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round. He played eight seasons for the Bengals, surpassing 1,000 yards receiving four times (1981, 1983, 1985 and 1986) and was named to three Pro Bowl’s (1981, 1982 and 1983). 

Collinsworth played in Super Bowl XVI, catching four passes for 107 yards in the loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
After completing his NFL career, Collinsworth moved on to the broadcasting industry. He started out with NBC network’s NFL broadcasts before signing a deal to do the NFL on FOX broadcasts in 1998. He is currently back with NBC as a commentator for Football Night In America on Sunday nights.
