AUSTIN, Texas – Senior Grace Blomstedt of Lindsey Wilson College headlines the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America® NAIA volleyball teams as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Blomstedt was named the Google Cloud Academic All-America® of the Year for NAIA volleyball.
The NAIA Google Cloud Academic All-America® program is financially supported by the NAIA national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2018-19 NAIA Goggle Cloud Academic All-America® teams.
Blomstedt is a middle blocker for the Blue Raiders, recording 279 kills, a .356 hitting percentage, and 140 total blocks in 2018. The Red Oak, Iowa, native helped Lindsey Wilson to a 13-0 Mid-South Conference record in capturing both the MSC regular-season and tournament championships. The Blue Raiders advanced to the NAIA National Championship Tournament, making it to the quarterfinal round and finishing the year at 33-4 overall. Blomstedt led the MSC in blocks and ranked 21st in the NAIA in total blocks and 32nd in blocks per set (1.1).
The three-time All-MSC first-team selection is a communications major and boasts a 4.00 GPA. Blomstedt shared Co-MSC Player of the Year honors with teammate Sarah Cruz and was named to the NAIA All-America First Team.
There is only one repeat honoree on the Google Cloud Academic All-America® team from last season. Kristen Osborn of Mount Vernon Nazarene University was named to the first team for the second consecutive year.
The 14 members of the Google Cloud Academic All-America® NAIA volleyball team have an average GPA of 3.93.
