AUSTIN, Texas – West Virginia University senior defender Bianca St. Georges headlines the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division I Women’s Soccer teams selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and announced Thursday.
Georges earned the distinction of 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year for Division I women’s soccer.
Georges, an exercise physiology major from St. Felix de Valois, Quebec, earns Google Cloud Academic All-America® of the Year honors after being named to the Academic All-America® First Team in 2017 and receiving third team honors in 2016. She boasts a perfect 4.0 GPA while being named the 2018 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. She was the second leading scorer for the Mountaineers, finishing with seven goals. This season, she has been named to the United Soccer Coaches All-America Second Team and was a Senior CLASS Award All-America First Team selection.
Twenty-six of the 34 members of the Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division I women’s soccer teams sport a perfect 4.0 GPA. The 11 members of the first team average a perfect GPA of 4.0, with the complete 34-member women’s team averaging a 3.97 GPA.
Along with Georges, the Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division I Women’s Soccer teams have six other repeat performers from last year’s teams – Sydney Fortson (U.S. Naval Academy), Emily Littell (George Mason University), Jessica Wollmann (Radford University), Carli Arthurs (Stephen F. Austin State University), Emily Ogle (Pennsylvania State University), and Emma Welch (University of Alabama).
