Jason Zobott of Colorado School of Mines headlines the 2019 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II Men's Soccer teams, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2019-20 Division II Academic All-America® program.

Zobott has been selected as the recipient of the Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year for Division II momen's soccer, leading his teamsto the NCAA Division II Round of 16. Zobott is a repeat selection after earning second team Academic All-America® honors in 2018.

A petroleum engineering major with a 3.92 GPA, Zobott has guided Colorado School of Mines (15-3-4) to the third round of the NCAA Tournament Thursday (Dec. 5), as the Orediggers will face Cal State San Bernardino. They handed Azusa Pacific University its first loss of the season, 2-1, with Zobott scoring the game-winning goal, to reach the third round.

A native of Lake in the Hills, Ill., Zobott was recently named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Player of the Year, RMAC Defensive Player of the Year, and a first team All-RMAC honoree. It marked the second straight year Zobott was selected as the RMAC Defensive Player of the Year and first team all-conference.  He was voted RMAC Academic Player of the Year and RMAC first team All-Academic. In 2018, Zobott was a D2CCA second team All-American.   Zobott has been effective on both ends of the field as part of a stifling defense that has recorded a school-record 13 shutouts and allowed just 15 goals. He ranks third on the team with six goals and three assists for 15 points.

Twenty-five of the 33 members of the 2018 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II Men’s Soccer teams have at least a 3.80 GPA, with eight student-athletes maintaining a perfect 4.00 GPA. The 12 members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.93.

In addition to Zobott, the Academic All-America® Division II Men’s Soccer teams have six repeat performers –
Laki Prpa (University of Wisconsin-Parkside),
Ben Overholt (Coloorado School of Mines),
Yannik Felber (Franklin Pierce University),
Alex VonHolle (University of Colorado Colorado Springs),
Daniele De Angelis (Notre Dame College), and
Dimitrios Topouzlis (Wilmington University) - from last year’s CoSIDA Academic All-America® teams.
