AUSTIN, Texas – Gallaudet’s Hannah Neild leads the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-America® NCAA Division III women's basketball teams, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Neild, who has a 3.98 GPA as an education major, earns the Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year award for the women in her first year as an Academic All-America®.
Neild, who is second in Division III in points scored, 649, and third in points per game, 25.0, earned NEAC Player of the Year honors this season for the Bison and is a two-time first team All-NEAC pick. She is also one of 10 finalists for the Jostens Award.
Darby Massner (Iowa Wesleyan) and Briana Moore (Bridgewater (Va.)) are the repeat honorees for the women and join Neild on the first team. Lauren Bondi (Smith) and Alexis Scholtz (Johns Hopkins) complete that unit.
Moore is also Jostens finalists this year.
The 15-woman Google Cloud Academic All-America® women’s team has an average GPA of 3.88 with the first team checking in at 3.97. Five of the 15 women have perfect 4.0 GPAs.
The Division III Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2018-19 Division II Academic All-America® teams program.
