AUSTIN, Texas – Junior outfielder Mason Janvrin of the University of Central Missouri headlines the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division II Baseball Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The Division II Google Cloud Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure, to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2018-19 DII and DIII Academic All-America® teams.

Janvrin has been selected as the recipient of the Google Cloud Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year for Division II baseball. An occupational & safety management major with a 4.00 GPA, he moved up from the second team a year ago. He has led the Mules to a 44-15 record and a berth in the NCAA Division II Baseball National Championship. Seeded fifth, Central Missouri will play an elimination game against Ashland University Wednesday (June 5) evening.

The Mules won their second straight Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Tournament, and 23rd overall, before moving on with a perfect 5-0 record in the Central Regional. UCM defeated Augustana (S.D.) University in two games in the Super Regional.

A native of Warrensburg, Missouri, Janvrin is batting a team-leading .423 with career highs of 14 doubles, three triples, five home runs and 49 RBI. He not only leads the team in hits with a school-record 110, but also leads Division II and has the top mark in all three divisions of the NCAA. He ranks fifth in Division II in runs with 73, and ranks seventh in the country in stolen bases with 36. He is one shy of moving into a tie for eighth at UCM for stolen bases in a season.

Janvrin put together an incredible streak of 56 consecutive games (68 dating back to last year) of reaching base before failing to do so in the clinching regional win over Augustana. He earned first team All-MIAA honors while garnering MIAA gold glove honors in center field for the second straight year. He was also an All-MIAA second team selection as a sophomore after hitting a team-leading .387.

Nineteen of the 33 members of the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division II Baseball teams have at least a 3.90 G.P.A., with six student-athletes maintaining a perfect 4.00 GPA. The 11 members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.90.

Along with Janvrin, the Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division II Baseball teams have six repeat performers – Blaine Crim (Mississippi College), Jared Melone (West Chester University), Joe Popp and Mikey Gangwish (Colorado School of Mines), and Gianfranco Morello (University of Charleston) - from last year’s Google Cloud Academic All-America® teams.
