AUSTIN, Texas – Junior infielder Shannon Lloyd of Keystone College (Pa.) headlines the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division III softball teams, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

A criminal justice and psychology double-major with a 3.99 cumulative GPA, Lloyd has been selected as the recipient of the Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year award for Division III softball.

A first-team selection to the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division III Team, Lloyd was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III All-America third team and became the first student-athlete from Keystone to be named the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Softball Player of the Year this spring.

A native of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, Lloyd started all 42 games and ended the regular season leading Division III in on-base percentage (.641), slugging percentage (1.101) and total bases (131). She was also third in batting average (.571), seventh in RBI (54) and eighth in hits (68). Lloyd collected 31 extra-base hits, including six triples and 13 home runs.

Twenty-two of the 34 members of the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division III softball teams have at least a 3.90 GPA, with eight student-athletes maintaining a perfect 4.00 GPA. The 11 members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.91.

The 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division III softball teams include seven repeat Academic All-America® performers. The 2019 honor is the third consecutive for Taylor Arends (Washington University in St. Louis), who was joined on the first team by 2018 selections Alyson Shaw (Otterbein University) and Sarah Von Ahn (MIT). Another first-team honoree, Jackie Schneider (Neumann University), received third-team honors in 2017. Rachel Johnson (Washington & Jefferson College) and Allison Meyer (George Fox University) repeated their second-team selections from last year, while Melissa Livermore (University of Texas at Dallas) moved up to the second team after a third-team honor in 2018.

The Division III Google Cloud Academic All-America® program is financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2018-19 Division III Academic All-America® teams.
