AUSTIN, Texas – Pace University senior forward Peyton Wejnert headlines the Academic All-America® Division II Men’s Basketball teams, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2019-20 Division II Academic All-America® teams program.

Wejnert, a finance major with a 3.89 GPA, is making his second appearance on the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II Men’s Basketball team after earning a second-team selection in 2018-19. He is a two-time Northeast 10 all-conference selection and was named to the first team during his final season with the Setters.

The native of Point Pleasant, New Jersey., led the Northeast 10 in scoring this season with an average of 23.5 points per game, while ranking third in rebounding at 9.2 per outing. The senior forward posted seven 30-point games, including a career-high 40-point performance and 13 double-doubles throughout the season. Wejnert is just the second player in program history to tally more than 1,720 career points and 700 rebounds. Wejnert shot 52.6 percent from the field, while posting eight games in which he shot 60 percent or better.

Eleven of the 15 members of the 2019-20 Academic All-America® Division II Men’s Basketball teams have at least a 3.80 GPA, with one student-athlete maintaining a perfect 4.00 GPA. The six members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.97.

The Academic All-America® Division II Men’s Basketball teams have six repeat performers – Dalton Bolon (West Liberty University), Kevin Buckingham (Southeastern Oklahoma State University), Tyler Cartaino (Chaminade University), Nathan Davis (Seton Hill University), Luke Gibson (Newberry College) and Wejnert - from last year’s CoSIDA Academic All-America® teams.
