AUSTIN, Texas – Lukas Macek of Keiser University headlines the 2019-20 Academic All-America® NAIA Men’s At-Large Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
The NAIA Academic All-America® program is financially supported by the NAIA national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2019-20 NAIA Academic All-America® teams. Despite the cancellation of spring competition during COVID-19, CoSIDA continued its sponsorship of the Academic All-America awards program. Student-athletes were selected based on career statistics.
The at-large program for the Academic All-America® program includes the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis, water polo for both men and women; bowling, crew and field hockey for women; and volleyball and wrestling for men.
Macek was named the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team Member of the year for the NAIA men’s at-large team, while Ferguson was named the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year for NAIA women’s at-large team.
Macek, a junior swimmer from Zlin, Czech Republic, boasts of a 3.91 cumulative grade-point average majoring in interdisciplinary studies. The Seahawk has 14 NAIA National Championships, seven individual honors and seven relay honors. This season, he won the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke for the third consecutive season and won relay titles in the 200-yard freestyle, 400-yard medley, 200-yard medley and 400-yard freestyle. He is a 17-time NAIA All-American, was the 2018 NAIA Men’s Swimmer of the Year and was named 2018-19 Sun Coast Swimming Conference Male Athlete of the Year.

Callum Blinkhorn of Lindsey Wilson College, wrestler
Dylan Chatterton of Southeastern University, swimmer
Andrew Clifford of College of Idaho and men’s tennis player
Samir Chikhaoui of Xavier University of Louisiana. Macek and Chikhaoui were first-team CoSIDA Academic All-America® honorees last year, while Blinkhorn, Chatterton and Clifford were second-team selections.
The CoSIDA Academic All-America® NAIA Men’s At-Large Team produced an average GPA of 3.82 with the first team combining for an average GPA of 3.85.
Alec Martinez of Saint Xavier University is the only member of the team with a 4.0 GPA.
