AUSTIN, Texas – Pittsburg State University redshirt senior Levi Wyrick headlines the 2019-20 Academic All-America® Division II Men’s Track & Field/Cross Country teams, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
 
The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2019-20 Division II Academic All-America® teams program. Despite the cancellation of spring competition during COVID-19, CoSIDA continued its sponsorship of the Academic All-America awards program. Student-athletes were selected based on career statistics.
 
Wyrick was tabbed the recipient of the College Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year for NCAA Division II men’s track & field/cross country.
  
Wyrick finished his undergraduate degree in educational leadership with a perfect 4.00 GPA and has been named to four CoSIDA Academic All-America® teams during his career with the Gorillas (three in track & field/cross country and one in football).
 
The native of Elk City, Kansas, was the recipient of the NCAA Elite 90 Award at the 2018 NCAA Division II Outdoor and the 2019 Indoor Track & Field Championships. The three-time All-American in weight throw and hammer was the 2018-19 MIAA Male Student-Athlete of the Year and the 2019-20 MIAA Male Winter Student-Athlete of the Year.
 
The 15 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II men’s track/cross country first team members hold a composite 3.88 GPA. Thirteen members of the 45-player first, second and third teams honorees hold a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA. Seventeen CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II men’s track/cross country selections are repeat picks from the 2018-19 honor listing, including two student-athletes making the 2017-18 team. The repeat performers from the men’s team include Lenoir-Rhyne University’s Josh Adkins, Carson-Newman University’s Caleb Agee, Chico State’s Wyatt Baxter, Tiffin University’s Cameron Burrows, Colorado School of the Mines’ Grant Colligan, Lincoln University’s Kizan David, Harding University’s Matt Hipshire, Pittsburg State University’s Joshua Hudiburg, University of Central Missouri’s Jan Jansky, Queens University of Charlotte’s Martin Knauer, Colorado State – Pueblo’s Marcelo Laguera, Col Poly Pomona’s Kyle Lawson, University of Southern Indiana’s Austin Nolan, University of Colorado – Colorado Springs’ William Ross, Colorado School of Mines’ Ben Schneiderman, Gannon University’s Joseph Westrick and Wyrick.
