AUSTIN, Texas – Pittsburg State University junior Haven Lander headlines the 2019-20 Academic All-America® Division II Women’s Track & Field/Cross Country teams, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
 
The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2019-20 Division II Academic All-America® teams program. Despite the cancellation of spring competition during COVID-19, CoSIDA continued its sponsorship of the Academic All-America awards program. Student-athletes were selected based on career statistics.
 
Lander was selected as the recipient of the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year for NCAA Division II women’s track & field/cross country.
 
An English major with a perfect 4.00 grade-point average, Lander is a five-time All-American who swept the national titles in the women’s pole vault at the 2019 NCAA Division II Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships as a sophomore.
 
Entering this year’s indoor national championship event, the native of Republic, Missouri, ranked fourth in the country in the pole vault. Lander was the recipient of the NCAA Elite 90 Award at the 2019 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championship and was named the 2019 United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association Scholar-Athlete of the Year. She is a three-time Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association champion and two-time pole vault runner-up.
 
The 15 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II women’s track/cross country first team members hold a composite 3.95 GPA. Twenty-four members of the 45-player first, second and third teams honorees hold a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA. Thirteen CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II women’s track/cross country selections are repeat picks from the 2018-19 honor listing, including one student-athlete making the 2017-18 team. The repeat performers from the women’s team include Spring Hill College’s Athina Amanor, Missouri Southern State University’s Elena Bisotto, Florida Southern College’s Addison Cantor and Hannah Flemming, Colorado School of Mines’ Chloe Cook, Francis Marion University’s Emma Driggers, Grand Valley State University’s Hanna Groeber, Southern Arkansas University’s Carley Hale, Saginaw Valley State University’s Lauren Huebner, Lander, Tusculum University’s Nicole McMillen, Pittsburg State’s Piper Misse and Colorado State University – Pueblo’s Hailey Streff.
