Kevin de Lange headlines the Academic All-America® NAIA Men’s Soccer teams, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
The NAIA Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NAIA national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2020-21 NAIA Academic All-America® teams program.
de Lange was tabbed the recipient of the Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year for NAIA Men’s Soccer.
The career record holder for goals at Shawnee State University,
de Lange caps off an incredible campaign as a repeat CoSIDA Academic All-America® first-team selection. The forward holds the SSU record with 43 career goals and is second all-time in points, just six behind the school leader with one season still to play.
de Lange led the Bears in goals, assists and points and also posted a team-best game-winning goals (five), shots on goal (23) and tied for the team lead in games started (14). He earned second team All-Mid-South Conference honors while maintaining a GPA of 3.99. He graduated from SSU this past spring with a degree in business administration.
In addition to de Lange, Georgia Gwinnett College’s
Alfredo Rivera was a repeat CoSIDA Academic All-America® selection. Rivera was named to the second team last year.
Eight of 11 members of the 2020 CoSIDA Academic All-America® NAIA Men’s Soccer team have at least a 3.80 G.P.A., with two student-athletes maintaining a perfect 4.00 GPA. The eleven members on the first team posted an average GPA of 3.87.
