AUSTIN, Texas – Graduate student Ida Narbuvoll of the University of Mary headlines the 2020-21 Academic All-America® Division II Women’s Track & Field/Cross Country teams as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
 
Narbuvoll is the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year for Women's Track & Field/Cross Country.
 
The Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2020-21 Division II Academic All-America® teams’ program.
  
A two-time national champion and the USTFCCCA Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year, Narbuvoll posted a 3.76 GPA while earning a bachelor's degree in engineering and owns a 4.00 GPA while pursuing a master's degree in project management.
 
Narbuvoll was the 2021 Northern Sun Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year after winning three titles at the conference championships and the North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters College Female Athlete of the Year. The native of Norway won the 10,000 and the 5,000 meter runs at the 2021 NCAA outdoor championships, breaking a 36-year meet record in the 5K by over 20 seconds and now owns the second-best mark ever recorded in Division II history. A three-time NSIC Athlete of the Week in 2021 who won all eight times she raced this spring, Narbuvoll is a nine-time All-American.
 
Twelve women are repeat performers on this year’s track & field/cross country teams. Eight student-athletes on the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II Track & Field/Cross Country women's team have a 4.00 undergraduate GPA. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II Women’s Track & Field/Cross Country First Team had an overall 3.90 GPA.
 
Three-time honoreees include Pittsburg State’s Haven Lander, Colorado State University-Pueblo’s Hailey Streff and Florida Southern College’s Hannah Flemming.
