AUSTIN, Texas – University of Louisville senior swimmer Nick Albiero headlines the 2020-21 Academic All-America® Division I Men's At-Large Teams, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
  
The Academic All-America® Men’s At-Large Team Member of the Year, Albiero is a health & human performance in exercise science major with a 3.95 GPA from Louisville, Kentucky. Both Albiero and Forde are two-time Academic All-America® first-team selections.
  
Albiero became just the third Louisville men’s swimmer to earn an NCAA individual championship in 2021 by winning the 200 butterfly and was a seven-time NCAA All-American overall. He was also part of four Cardinal relays at the NCAA championships including a 20.07 split on the butterfly leg of the 200 medley relay – the program’s first-ever NCAA relay title this year. Albiero was named the ACC Swimmer of the Year after winning his fourth 200 butterfly championship and leading the Cardinals to the program’s first-ever ACC swimming championship. He was an Olympic Trials finalist and member of the US National Team. Albiero was the ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year and was a four-time All-ACC Academic Team selection.
 
Among the 47 men selected to the Academic All-America® Division I At-Large teams, 21 carry a 4.0 grade-point average. The 15 members of the men’s at-large first team carry an average GPA of 3.912.
 
Ten men are repeat Academic All-America® selections, including four-time men’s honoree lacrosse player Conor Gaffney of Lehigh University, second-team in 2020 and 2021, and third-team in 2018 and 2019. Three-time picks include first-team Phil Goss of Brown University (first, 2019, 2020, 2021), Brigham Young’s Miki Jauhiainen (first, 2020, 2021, third 2019), North Carolina State’s Eric Knowles (first 2020, 2021, third, 2019), and Jannik Opitz (first, 2020, 2021 / second 2019). Micah Oh of the U.S. Naval Academy and Albiero were first team in 2020 and 2021, Carl Söderlund of the University of Virginia was second team in 2020, while second-teamers Christian Daniel of the U.S. Naval Academy was third team in 2020, and Indiana University’s Andrew Capobianco was third team in 2019.
