AUSTIN, Texas – Stanford University senior swimmer and Olympic silver medalist Brooke Forde headlines the 2020-21 Academic All-America® Division I Women's At-Large Teams, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
 
A human biology major with a 3.96 grade-point average from Louisville, Kentucky, Forde was named the Academic All-America® Women’s At-Large Team Member of the Year. She is the fourth Stanford University student-athlete to earn Academic All-America® At-Large Team Member of the Year honors joining Makenzie Fischer (2019, water polo), former teammate and 10-time Olympic medalist Katie Ledecky (2018) and Sandra Birch (1991, tennis).
 
Forde is a two-time Academic All-America® first-team selection.
 
Forde won the first Olympic medal of her career at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as part of the Team USA swimming relay pool. She anchored the United States to the second-fastest time in the 4x200m free relay prelims (7:47.57). A member of two NCAA championship teams, Forde is a four-time NCAA national champion including the 2021 400 individual medley title and 15-time NCAA All-American overall. She is a four-time Pac-12 champion and has been a member of three Pac-12 championship teams. Forde is a three-time CSCAA Scholar All-American and three-time Pac-12 All-Academic pick including the Pac-12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year. She was the 2018 Pac-12 Women’s Swimming Newcomer of the Year.
  
Among the 45 women selected to the Academic All-America® Division I  At-Large teams, 21 carry a 4.0 grade-point average. The 17 members of the women’s at-large first team carry an average GPA of 3.926.
 
Nine women are repeat Academic All-America® selections, including three-time honorees Emily Arbuthnott of Stanford University (first, 2019, 2020, 2021) and University of South Carolina’s Lois Kaye Go (first, 2019, 2020, 2021). Two-time selections include first-teamers University of Michigan’s Annika Hoffman (second, 2020), Pepperdine University’s Ashley Lahey (first, 2020), University of Virginia’s Paige Madden (third, 2020) and Forde, along with second-teamers Faith Anderson of James Madison University (second, 2020), Robin Neumann of the University of California (third, 2020) and Christina Rosca of Vanderbilt (first, 2020).
