AUSTIN, Texas – Senior swimmer Jerry Brown of Lindenwood University headlines the 2020-21 Academic All-America® Division II Men’s At-Large team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Brown is the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year for the men's at-large team for Division II.

The Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2020-21 Division II Academic All-America® teams’ program.

The at-large program for the CoSIDA Academic All-America® program includes the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis, water polo, volleyball and wrestling.

Brown, who is from Minot, South Dakota, touched first in the 100-yard breaststroke at the 2021 NCAA Division II swimming and diving championships in Birmingham, Alabama. Brown earned first team All-American accolades in six different events at the 2021 NCAA meet.

A first-time Academic All-America® honoree, Brown posted a 3.97 cumulative grade-point average with his health promotion and wellness management major. The 2021-22 Great Lakes Valley Conference post-graduate scholarship winner has volunteered for seven years at his community pool in his hometown, helping educate swimmers on how to be water safe and enjoy the sport of swimming.

Fourteen men are repeat performers on this year’s at-large teams. Fourteen student-athletes on the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II Men's At-Large Teams have a 4.00 undergraduate GPA. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II Men’s At-Large First Team had an overall 3.93 GPA.

Wrestlers Tyler Kreith of Maryville (Mo.) University and Noah Ottum of Colorado School of Mines are celebrating three Academic All-America® honors each. A senior, Kreith made third team twice before advancing to the 2021 first team. Graduate student Ottum climbed the ladder, earning a third team nod in 2019 and a second team selection in 2020.
