AUSTIN, Texas – Four standouts on the pitch and in the classroom – University of Arkansas’s Bea Franklin, Embry-Riddle University’s (Fla.) Isabelle Navren, Misericordia University’s Julia Beck and Spring Arbor University’s Ariana Stoltzfus – highlight the 2023 Academic All- America® women’s soccer teams selected by the College Sports Communicators.
 
Franklin (Division I), Navren (Division II), Beck (Division III) and Stoltzfus (NAIA) have each been named the Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year for their respective divisions.
 

NCAA Division I

Bea Franklin, the 2023 SEC Midfielder and Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and a United Soccer Coaches First Team All-American, led the Razorbacks in goals (9), assists (9) and points (27) and the SEC in assists and points for the 2023 season. She started in all 22 matches and led Arkansas to its fourth SEC regular season title, eighth straight NCAA Tournament appearance and seventh SEC Tournament Finals appearance. Franklin, a graduate student from Seattle, Wash., carries a 4.00 GPA as a finance major.
 
Twelve of the 33 members of the Academic All-America® Division I women’s soccer teams boast a perfect 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school. The 11 members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.92.
 
Six student-athletes are repeat selections on the Academic All-America® Division I women’s team – Julia Leas (Georgetown University), Gianna Gourley (Grand Canyon University), Maddy Anderson (Mississippi State University), Gracie Wilson (University of South Alabama), Megan Bornkamp (Clemson University), and Gessica Skora (University of Alabama).

NCAA Division II

Isabelle Navren, a midfielder from Stockholm, Sweden, tallied 17 points on five goals and seven assists for Embry-Riddle during the 2023 season. She was to the All-Sunshine State Conference First Team for the third time in her career and garnered SSC All-Tournament Team honors for the second time in her time at Embry-Riddle. A two-time Academic All-America® selection, Navren is a graduate student with a perfect 4.0 GPA pursuing her MBA, and as an accounting and finance major as an undergrad.
 
The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist the College Sports Communicators with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Division II Academic All-America® program.
 
Sixteen of the 33 members of the Academic All-America® Division II women’s soccer teams boast a perfect 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school. The 11 members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.94.

A defender who hails from Langhorne, Pa., Julia Beck was named a United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-American after anchoring a defense that allowed just 17 goals and 3.3 shots on goal per match in 2023. She was also a scoring threat, tallying 11 goals and dishing out five assists for 27 points this season. Beck is a junior with a perfect 4.0 GPA as a psychology/physical therapy doctorate major.
 
The Division III Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure to assist the College Sports Communicators with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Division III Academic All-America® program.

Ariana Stoltzfus, a defender from Goshen, Ind., was tabbed a First Team NAIA All-American, leading a Spring Arbor defense that surrendered just 10 goals in 23 matches during the 2023 season. She also added seven goals and a team-high nine assists for 23 points in her 23 contests played. A two-time Academic All-America® honoree, Stoltzfus is a senior with a 3.93 GPA as a criminal justice major.
 
The NAIA Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NAIA national governance structure to assist the College Sports Communicators with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 NAIA Academic All-America® program.
 
Six of the 23 members of the Academic All-America® NAIA women’s soccer teams boast a perfect 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school. The 12 members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.90.
