AUSTIN, Texas – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced Wednesday the 2022-23 Academic All-America® women’s basketball teams for NCAA Division I-II-III and NAIA, headlined by University of Iowa’s
Caitlin Clark,
Brooke Olson from the University of Minnesota Duluth, Anderson University’s (IN)
Lexi Dellinger, and
Grace Beyer of the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis.
Clark (Division I), Olson (Division II), Dellinger (Division III) and Beyer (NAIA) have each been named the Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year award winner for their respective divisions..

NCAA Division I
Caitlin Clark has been named the 2022-23 Academic All-America® of the Year for Division I after being selected to the first team in 2021-22. The junior guard from West Des Moines, Iowa, carries a 3.60 GPA while majoring in marketing. For the year, she is averaging 27.0 points, 8.3 assists, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game for the Big Ten champion Hawkeyes. She currently leads Division I in several statistical categories including assists per game, three pointers made (108), and triple doubles (4). She scored 30 or more points in 10 games, including a pair of 40-point games. She was named the Big Ten Player of the Year by both the coaches and the media for the second straight year. Clark was recently named a finalist for three national awards, the Nancy Lieberman Award, the Wooden Award and the Dawn Staley Award, and a semifinalist for the Naismith Women’s Player of the Year. She won both the Lieberman and Staley awards last season.
Five of the 16 members of the Academic All-America® Division I women’s basketball teams boast a perfect 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school. The five members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.82, with the entire Division I team holding a collective average GPA of 3.87.
Four other student-athletes join Clark as a repeat selection on the Academic All-America® Division I team.
Aaliyah Boston of the University of South Carolina earns her third Academic All-America® honor after being named the Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year the last two seasons.
Myah Selland of South Dakota State University also earned her third Academic All-America® honor. The other repeat selections from 2021-22 were
Mary Crompton (Illinois State University) and
Makenna Marisa (Pennsylvania State University).

NCAA Division II
A forward from Rice Lake, Wisconsin,
Brooke Olson has been named the Academic All-America® of the Year for Division II. The senior carries a 3.65 GPA while pursuing her bachelor’s degree in biology. She is the second women’s basketball player from Minnesota Duluth to be named Academic All-America® of the Year, joining Lindsey Dietz who earned the honor twice, 2004-05 and 2005-06. Olson currently leads Division II in total field goals made, 298, and ranks third with 23.0 points per game, in addition to averaging 7.2 rebounds and 1.3 blocks. She is second among active Division II players with 2,434 career points. Olson was recently named the Division II Conference Commissioners Association Central Region Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. She is a three-time Women's Basketball Coaches Association All-American and is a three-time Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Player of the Year.
The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Division II Academic All-America® program.
Six of the 16 members of the Academic All-America® Division II women’s basketball teams sustain an unblemished 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school. The five members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.92, with the entire Division II team maintaining a collective average GPA of 3.87.
The lone repeat selection on the Academic All-America® Division II team is
Annie Roshak (Ashland University). She earned second team honors, after being selected to the third team a season ago.

NCAA Division III
Lexi Dellinger earns the Academic All-America® of the Year for Division III, being named to the first team honors for the second straight season. The graduate student from Berne, Indiana, holds a perfect 4.0 GPA as the forward pursues an MBA after earning her undergraduate degree in elementary education with a 3.93 GPA. Dellinger finished the season averaging 20.4 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. She ranks eighth in the nation in three-point shooting, averaging 42.5 percent on the season. She was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Player of the Year each of the last two seasons. All five years at Anderson she was named to the HCAC All-Conference team including the first team the last three seasons. Earlier this season she became the first player in program history to amass 2,000 career points.
The Division III Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Division III Academic All-America® program.
Eight of the 15 members of the Academic All-America® Division III women’s basketball teams claim a perfect 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school. The five members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.97, with the entire Division III team retaining a collective average GPA of 3.93.
Joining Dellinger as repeat selections on the Academic All-America® Division III team are
Claire Brock (Emory University),
Emily Hafemann (Concordia University Wisconsin),
Olivia Parisi (Johns Hopkins University), and
Gabby Timmer (Calvin University). In addition, Katie Titus (University of Rochester) was a second-team Division II Academic All-America® selection last year with Daemen College.

NAIA
Grace Beyer earns her second Academic All-America® of the Year honor for the NAIA. The senior guard is a native of Eagle, Wisconsin, who maintains a 3.93 GPA as a pharmacy major. Beyer leads the NAIA, averaging 32.3 points per game and scoring 937 total points. For the season, she also averaged 6.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. Her 277 free throws made and 295 free throws attempted also lead the NAIA, while her 93.9 percentage made ranks second. She was named the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Player of the Year for the second straight year. During the regular season, she was named the AMC Player of the Week 11 times and was named the NAIA National Player of the Week three times. On the year, she scored 30 or more points in 19 games, scored 40 or more points six times, and scored a conference and program record 59 points in a game.
The NAIA Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NAIA national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 NAIA Academic All-America® program.
Five of the 10 members of the Academic All-America® NAIA women’s basketball teams maintain an impeccable 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school. The five members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.95, with the entire NAIA team carrying a collective average GPA of 3.94.
The other repeat selection on the Academic All-America® NAIA team joining Beyer is
Brynley Fitzgerald (University of Montana Western), who earned second team honors in 2020-21.
