AUSTIN, Texas – Four CSC Academic All-America ® of the Year recipients highlight the 2022-23 CSC Men’s Academic All-America ® teams for NCAA Divisions I, II, and III along with the NAIA and announced Tuesday by the College Sports Communicators.
 
Sebastien Collard from the University of South Alabama, Cedric Drenth from Wayne State University, Nick Aney from Gustavus Adolphus College, and Martin Muller from the University of the Cumberlands are the All-America ® of the Year honorees for NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III, and the NAIA, respectively.
 
Men’s tennis had previously been a part of the men’s at-large team until the 2022-23 season.

Sebastien Collard is a finance major from Gatineau, Quebec, Canada and a two-time Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year in addition to being one of nine members of the 18-man team with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average.
 
Collard earned Sun Belt Player of the Week honors twice this season and earned All-Sun Belt accolades in both singles and doubles in both 2022 and 2023. This season, he posted a 15-6 singles record and was 15-4 in doubles.
 
Collard was the lone repeat selection on the Division I Academic All-America® team. Collard was a third-team honoree in 2021-22.
 
The 18-man team had a 3.83 average GPA with the first team checking in at 3.92. Four of the nine student-athletes with perfect 4.0 GPAs are first team honorees.

Cedric Drenth is a sophomore management major from Sultzbach, Germany and is one of eight members of the Division II team with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
 
Drenth is the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year, a two-time All-GLIAC pick and holds Wayne State’s season records for wins in both singles and doubles. He has a 55-21 career record in singles and 63-19 in doubles.
 
Alejandro Ibañez Gallego from Barry University was the lone repeat selection on the Division II Academic All-America® team. He was named to the third team in 2021-22.
 
The Division II team boasts a 3.88 average GPA with a 3.93 for the first team. Three of the seven with a 4.0 are on first team.
 
The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Division II Academic All-America® program.

Nick Aney is from Rochester, Minnesota, and has a 3.99 GPA as a biochemistry major.
 
Aney, a three-time All-America selection in doubles, was one-half of the 2023 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Doubles Team of the Year and the 2022 MIAC Arthur Ashe Award winner.
 
Aney is a three-time Division III Academic All-America® first-team selection as he was also named to the 2021-22 and 2020-21 teams.
 
Division III leads the four teams with a 3.90 average GPA for the squad and 3.93 for the first team. Four student-athletes boast 4.0 GPAs.
 
The Division III Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Division III Academic All-America® program.

Martin Muller is from Klugenflurt, Austria and a 4.0 student as an exercise and sport science/business administration major. He is one of two student-athletes on the 14-man NAIA team with a 4.0 GPA.
 
Muller is a three-time first team All-Mid-South Conference honoree and was picked as the Mid-South Player of the Week one time this season. In 2021-22, he also earned Mid-South Academic All-Conference honors.
 
The 14-man team has a 3.77 average GPA with the first team checking in at 3.85.
 
The NAIA Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NAIA national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 NAIA Academic All-America® program.
