AUSTIN, Texas – College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced Wednesday the 2024 Academic All-America® women’s soccer teams for NCAA Division I-II-III and NAIA, headlined by Mississippi State University’s Maddy Anderson, Anna Lantz from Rockhurst University, North Central College’s Elle Sutter, and Marina Nawa of the University of Tennessee Southern.
 
Anderson (Division I), Lantz (Division II), Sutter (Division III) and Nawa (NAIA) have each been named the Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year award winner for their respective divisions.
 

NCAA Division I

Maddy Anderson was named the Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year for Division I, after being named to the first team in 2022 and the second team in 2023. A goalkeeper from Seabrook, Texas, she carries a 4.0 GPA while pursuing a master’s degree in Kinesiology after earning her bachelors of Psychology, also with a 4.0 GPA. She was named 2024 Southeastern Conference (SEC) Goalkeeper of the year after leading the Bulldogs to the SEC regular season championship. She ranks second in the nation with 14 shutouts on the season. Anderson also ranks among the nation’s top-20 with a 0.470 goals against average, a 84.6 save percentage, and 1,915 minutes played. She was named to the 2024 SEC All-Tournament Team, the Sec Community Service Team, and earned SEC Defensive Player of the Week three times.
 
Fourteen of the 33 members of the Academic All-America® Division I women’s soccer teams boast a perfect 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school. The 12 members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.93, with the entire Division I team holding a collective average GPA of 3.92.

NCAA Division II

A forward from Parker, Colorado, Anna Lantz has been named the Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year for Division II. She earns her second Academic All-America® honor after being named to third team a season ago. The junior carries a 4.0 GPA while pursuing her bachelor’s degree in molecular biology. She was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Co-Offensive player of the year, scoring 13 goals and six assists, to go along with five game-winning goals. Lantz was named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-Region First Team. She ranks among the top-10 in shots on goal per game and shots per game, and in the top-20 in goals, points, game-winning goals, and both goals per game and points per game.
 
Eleven of the 34 members of the Academic All-America® Division II women’s soccer teams sustain an unblemished 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school. The members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.90, with the entire Division II team maintaining a collective average GPA of 3.92.
 
There are seven repeat selections joining Lantz on the Academic All-America® Division II team. Anna Grossheim (UNC Pembroke) and Rebecca Kotula (East Stroudsburg University) earned their third Academic All-America® honor, while Delaney Bittner (Shepherd University), Kendall Blackmon (University of West Florida), Aino Martikainen (Franklin Pierce University), McKinley Mendenhall (Ashland University), and Mya Swinton (University of West Florida) garnered their second honor.
 
The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Division II Academic All-America® program.

NCAA Division III

Elle Sutter earns the Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year for Division III after also being named to the first team last season. The graduate student from Peoria, Illinois, graduated with a 3.86 GPA and marketing and management degrees. The forward is now pursuing her masters of business administration at North Central. She was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-American Third Team after scoring 27 goals and 14 assists in 22 games for the Cardinals. She tallied nine game-winning goals, setting a new program record for points in a season with 68. Nationally, she ranks second in points, goals, penalty kicks, and game-winning goals. She also ranks among the top-10 in points and goals per game, while ranking in the top-20 in total assists, assists per game, shots per game and shots on goal per game. She earned her second consecutive College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Offensive Student-Athlete of the Year award in leading North Central to the CCIW Tournament Championship. She was named the CCIW Offensive Player of the Week five times during the season.
 
Eleven of the 33 members of the Academic All-America® Division III women’s soccer teams claim a perfect 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school. The 13 members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.95, with the entire Division III team retaining a collective average GPA of 3.92.

NAIA

A senior from Shizuoka, Japan, Marina Nawa earns the Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year for NAIA. A forward, she is majoring in management and holds a 3.76 GPA. In 20 matches, she has tallied 31 goals and 18 assists for 80 points. She ranks seconds among NAIA players in points, fourth in goals, and fifth in assists. She was named to the South States Athletic Conference (SSAC) First Team and the SAC All-Tournament Team. She led the Firehawks to a spot in the SSAC Tournament finals and a quarterfinals appearance in the NAIA National Tournament. Nawa also earned SSAC Offensive Player of the Week honors.
 
Ten of the 25 members of the Academic All-America® NAIA women’s soccer teams maintain an impeccable 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school. The 14 members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.89, with the entire NAIA team carrying a collective average GPA of 3.88.
 
There were eight repeat selections on the Academic All-America® NAIA team, led by Rita Aguye (University of the Cumberlands), who was named first team in 2022 and 2023, while Rae Yoshioka (Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University) earned second team honors each of the last two years. She is joined by Kaitlyn Brunson (St. Ambrose University), Kylie Lewis (Friends University), Ellie Neal (Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University), Ola Orelesi (Georgia Gwinnett College), Riley Porter (Columbia College), and Zoe Villont (University of St. Francis (Ill.).
