AUSTIN, Texas – Five standouts headline a group of outstanding student-athletes named to the 2023-24 Academic All-America® Women’s At-Large teams as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC).
 
Hanna Abrahamsson from the University of Colorado, Allie Bianchi of Henderson State University, Lexi Onsrud from Illinois Wesleyan University, SCAD Savannah’s Lara Kurt, and Courtney Donahue from Des Moines Area Community College are the Academic All-America® Women’s At-Large Team Member of the Year honorees for NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III, NAIA, and the College Division, respectively.
 

NCAA Division I

Hanna Abrahamsson, a junior from Eksjo, Sweden, is a standout skier at Colorado. She is a physics major with a 3.83 cumulative grade-point average. Abrahamsson earned All-Important First Team All-America honors at the NCAA Championships, helping secure CU’s first team NCAA Championship in nine years.
 
A three-time letterwinner, Abrahamsson finished all 13 races this season, finishing in the top 20 in 12 of the 13 with seven top-10 and five top five finishes including two podiums and one race win, taking the 20K classic race at the CU Invitational.
 
Abrahamsson is a two-time Academic All-America® selection both times on the first team. She headlines a group of seven repeat selections including Britta Curl (University of Wisconsin), Ingrid Lindblad (LSU), Audrey Nourse (USC) and Nicole Nourse (USC), Ali Schrock (Illinois State University), and Cassie Stevens (Auburn University). Schrock is a three-time Academic All-America® selection.
 
A total of 50 individuals were recognized, with the 21 members of the first team showing a 3.89 cumulative GPA. A total of 24 honorees had perfect 4.00 GPAs, including 12 on the first team.
 
In addition, there are four student-athletes on the following 2024 U.S. Olympic Teams -- Oregon State’s Jade Carey (Gymnastics), Florida’s Leanne Wong (Gymnastics-Replacement Athlete), TCU’s Katie Zaun (Rifle-Replacement Athlete) and Penn State’s Sophia Gladieux (Field Hockey).

NCAA Division II

Allie Bianchi is pursuing a graduate degree in finance and carries a perfect 4.00 GPA at Henderson State University. The Allen, Texas, native earned WGCA All-America Scholar Athlete honors, was the 2024 NCAA Division II Women’s Golf Championship Elite 90 Award winner and was a First Team WGCA All-American for her performance on the course during the 2023-24 season. Last season, she earned First Team Academic All-America honors and was named the GAC Female Scholar Athlete of the Year.
 
The 2024 GAC Player of the Year, Bianchi posted eight top-five finishes this season, including winning the GAC Championship Individual Championship. She helped lead the Reddies to the Great American Conference (GAC) Championship and a runner-up finish at the 2024 NCAA-II Central Regional. Henderson State qualified for the 2024 NCAA Division II Women’s Golf Championship, placing sixth out of 18 teams before falling to No. 3 seed Dallas Baptist in the national quarterfinals.
 
There are 15 repeat selections including Bianchi, who is joined by Anci Dy (University of Indianapolis), Nicole Krozser (East Stroudsburg University), Anabel Needham (Michigan Technological University), Lindsey Shimborske (Mercy University), Morgan Sjoerdsma (Cal State LA), Daniela Passoni (Cal State East Bay), Charleigh Rondeau (Slippery Rock University), Daisy Woodring (Texas Woman’s University), Sabrina VanDeList (Colorado Mesa University) Jordan McCormick (Wayne State University), Hannah Stanislawczyk (West Chester University), Kaleigh Wilgeroth and Leah Knowles (Wingate University), and Madison McGriff (University of Colorado-Colorado Springs). VanDeList is a five-time Academic All-America® selection including three-times on the volleyball team (1st team, 2022, 2023; 3rd team, 2021) Sjoerdsma and Rondeau are both three-time Academic All-America® picks.
 
The Division II at-large teams honored 53 student-athletes, with 12 members of the first team earning 4.00 GPA’s either as undergraduate or graduate students. A total of 26 of the 53 members had 4.00 GPA’s. The 16-member first team had an average GPA of 3.99.
 
The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Division II Academic All-America® program.

NCAA Division III

Lexi Onsrud is a senior from Illinois Wesleyan and is now a three-time Division III Academic All-America® at-large team member. A kinesiology and allied health major with a 4.00 GPA, she excelled for the Titans in golf and was named the 2024 CCIW Woman of the Year and captured the 2024 NCAA Division III Women’s Golf Championship Elite 90 Award.
 
On the course, Onsrud was named all-region for the third time in her career as she posted a scoring average of 75.9 over 26.5 rounds in 11 tournaments in 2023-24. She finished in the top 20 in eight of the 11 tournaments with four top-five finishes, including a third-place finish at the CCIW Championship to earn her third All-CCIW accolade. The Normal, Ill., native finished off her collegiate career by posting the second-lowest 72-hole score at the NCAA Championship with a score of 301 to tie for 17th.
 
Onsrud, a three-time Academic All-America® pick, headlines a group of 12 student-athletes that are repeat selections including Abby Asuncion (Christopher Newport University) Jenna Flemmings (Kean), Grace Honigford (Ohio Northern University), Jessica Huang (Amherst College), Charlotte Marks and Hope Shue (Middlebury College), Cooper McKenna (Claremont-Mudd-Scripps), Kaylin Yeoh (Carnegie Mellon University), Maggie Shealy (Brandeis University), Maura Smeader (William Smith College), and Lily Hubanks (St. Olaf College). 
 
Of the 47 student-athletes on the Division III at-large teams, 15 finished with a 4.00 cumulative GPA. The 16 first team members had a cumulative 3.96 GPA.

Lara Kurt is a junior user experience design major who competes in bowling at SCAD Savannah. The Leland, N.C., native boasts a perfect 4.00 GPA and wrapped up the 2023-24 season as the SSAC Women’s Bowling Player of the Year.
 
Kurt helped lead the Bees to their third straight NAIA National Championship in 2024, and was named both an NAIA All-American and Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete.
 
There are four repeat selections including Carolin Albias (Keiser University), Carline Karr (Missouri Baptist University), and Alexandra Olson and Ellie Schilling (St. Ambrose University).
 
A total of 24 student-athletes were named to the NAIA team, with the 14 members of the first team owning a 3.89 cumulative GPA. A total of seven individuals, three on the first team, had 4.00 GPAs.

A sophomore from Marshfield, Wis., Courtney Donahue posted a 4.00 GPA as a health science major pitching for the Des Moines Area Community College softball team. She was named the TUCCI/NFCA Pitcher of the Year and earned NFCA NJCAA First Team All-American honors after going 26-4 with a 0.94 ERA over 186 2/3 innings. She compiled 12 shutouts and allowed just 25 earned runs on 73 hits with 386 strikeouts and only 31 walks.  
 
Donahue led the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) in wins, earned run average and strikeouts. She also led NJCAA Division II in strikeouts and tied for third in wins. Donahue was third in ERA and fifth in batting average against (.115). Her 386 strikeouts were 103 more than any other pitcher in NJCAA Division II.
 
Six of the 20 members of the Academic All-America® NAIA at-large team had 4.00 GPAs with the first team showing a cumulative GPA of 3.87.
 
The College Division Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) governance structure.
