Ledecky, Bassitt and Cockrell among the most decorated Academic All-Americans to qualify for the Paris Olympics

The 2024 Olympic Games will feature more than 125 CSC Academic All-Americans who have qualified to compete for their national teams in Paris. The international competition takes place July 26 through August 11. The current count of Academic All-Americans competing is 131, and CSC will adjust that number as it becomes aware of more athletes competing for their home countries.

The list of Academic All-Americans is highlighted by 74 athletes competing for the United States including stars such as Trevor Bassitt, Anna Cockrell, Caeleb Dressel, Naomi Girma, Lee Kiefer, Taryn Kloth, Katie Ledecky, Kelsey Plum, Breanna Stewart, TeeTee Terry and more.

Ledecky (Division I, 2017-18) and Bassitt (Division II, 2021-22) have each been honored with the highest award from CSC, the divisional Overall Academic All-American of the Year. Cockrell is a four-time Academic All-American and a two-time Division I Women's Track & Field AAA of the Year.

Canada has the second most AAAs on its national teams in Paris with 10.

Twenty-seven sports at the Games have at least one Academic All-American, with women’s track and field leading the way with 22 athletes. The U.S. will be represented in 24 sports by Academic All-Americans.

The Academic All-Americans competing in Paris represent 65 different CSC member colleges and universities led by Stanford with 19 AAAs and Arizona with 11. The most popular academic majors studied are psychology, business administration, and communications.

Nine AAAs from non-Division I schools are represented headlined by Bassitt (Division II Ashland University) and 2023-24 Division II Swimming & Diving Academic All-American of the Year Kyle Micallef of Florida Southern, who will compete for Malta.
