AUSTIN, Texas – Four standouts headline a group of outstanding student-athletes named to the 2024 Academic All-America® women’s volleyball teams as selected by the College Sports Communicators.
Anna DeBeer from the University of Louisville,
Teagan Starkey from Concordia University, St. Paul,
Olivia Foley from Juniata College and
Eva Joldersma of Indiana Wesleyan University lead the Academic All-America® teams by being named as the Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year for NCAA Divisions I, II, and III as well as the NAIA, respectively.
The four Academic All-America® teams, totaling 80 student-athletes, have a 3.88 cumulative grade-point average with 23 members posting a perfect 4.00 GPA.
NCAA Division I
Anna DeBeer earns the Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year for Division I after also being named to the first team last season. The graduate student from Louisville, Kentucky graduated with a 3.92 cumulative GPA as a health & human performance exercise science degree. The outside hitter is now pursuing a master’s in business administration. She earned AVCA All-America second team honors this year and picked up her second All-ACC first team award. DeBeer was a first team AVCA All-South Region honoree and was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Louisville Regional in the NCAA Tournament.
DeBeer was one of six repeat selections to the Academic All-America® Division I team. The others are
Lexi Rodriguez (Nebraska),
Kendra Wait (Creighton),
Logan Case (Western Michigan),
Rachel Fairbanks (Pittsburgh),
Emily Londot (Ohio State) and
Julia Orzol (Wisconsin). Case, a three-time selection, was the 2023 CSC Academic All-America® Volleyball Team Member of the Year.
The Division I team boasted a 3.93 cumulative GPA.

NCAA Division II
A senior setter from Lakeville, Minnesota,
Teagan Starkey has a 4.00 cumulative GPA as a mathematics and actuarial science major. A two-time D2CCA first team All-American, she led Division II in assists per set (12.63) and total assist with 1,515. Sher is a three-time AVCA first team All-American team and a three-time AVCA all-region selection. Starkey was named All-NSIC first team for the third consecutive season. She was named to Academic All-America® first team in 2023 and the second team in 2022.
There are seven repeat selections on the Academic All-America® teams. In addition to Starkey, the others are

Maureen Reilly (Rockhurst),
Sabrina VanDeList (Colorado Mesa),
Taya Beller (Wayne State, Nebraska),
Isabella Ray (Lewis), and
Cassidy Snider (Pennsylvania Western University - Clarion). VanDeList is a six-time Academic All-America® pick including At-Large (beach volleyball) selections in 2022-23 and 2023-24. Starkey, Reilly, Beller, and Ray all earned their third honor.
The Division II team had a 3.89 cumulative GPA.
The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Division II Academic All-America® program.

NCAA Division III
Foley earns the Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year for Division III. The graduate student from Coldwater, Michigan,
Olivia Foley is pursuing her master’s degree in public health. She earned her undergraduate degree in social work and compiled a 3.59 cumulative GPA. The 5-foot-8 setter was named the AVCA National Player of the Year after leading the nation in assists per set (11.84) and was 17
th in total assists (1,125). Foley earned AVCA first team All-America honors and took home AVCA Region 5 Player of the Year accolades. Added to her award haul was the ECAC Offensive Player of the Year, All-ECAC first team, the Landmark Conference Player of the Year, and a first team All-Landmark Conference selection.
Seven members of the Division III team were repeat Academic All-America® selections:

NAIA
A junior outside hitter from Hudsonville, Michigan,
Eva Joldersma has a 3.84 cumulative GPA with her exercise science and pre-health care science major. On the court, she is a two-time NAIA National Player of the Year. Joldersma is an AVCA Player of the Year, AVCA All-America first team pick, and AVCA MidCentral Player of the Year the past two years. She earned NAIA Attacker of the Year the past two seasons and was selected the Crossroads League Player of the Year in 2023 and 2024. Her 568 kills ranked fourth in the nation.
Four members of the NAIA team were repeat Academic All-America® selections. In addition to Joldersma, the others are
