Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Release (NCAA & NAIA Divisions): PDF | doc
AUSTIN, Texas – Four standouts in competition and in the classroom – The University of Alabama’s
Doris Lemngole, Roberts Wesleyan University’s
Brynn King, Emory University’s
Nikki Boon and the University of the Cumberlands’
Alina Boshchuk – highlight the 2024-25 Academic All-America® women’s track and field/cross country teams selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC).
Lemngole (Division I), King (Division II), Boon (Division III) and Boshchuk (NAIA) have each been named the Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year award winner for their respective divisions. The superstar quartet receives this honor for the first time in their respective careers.
NCAA Division I
A sophomore from West Pokot County, Kenya,
Doris Lemngole is one of three finalists for The Bowerman, given annually to the top collegiate women’s track and field athlete of the year. This spring, Lemngole defended her NCAA steeplechase title by running the first collegiate sub-nine minute race with a time of 8:58.15. At the time of the race, this mark was also the fastest time in the world this calendar year.
Lemngole won three national championships during the 2024-25 academic year: cross country in the fall, the indoor 5000 meters in the winter and the outdoor steeplechase in the spring. She was undefeated in her events during the 2025 outdoor season. In the classroom, Lemngole holds a 4.00 GPA with her sport management major.
Fourteen of the 45 members of the Academic All-America® Division I women’s track and field/cross country teams boast a perfect 4.00 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school. The 15 first team members have an average undergraduate GPA of 3.89.
Twelve student-athletes are repeat selections on the Academic All-America® Division I women’s track and field/cross country team with seven veterans finding a spot on the first team. Leading the way is Nebraska senior
Axelina Johansson, who earns AAA laurels for the third time in her career. A two-time first team member, Johansson earned second team honors as a sophomore.
The other six first team repeat selections include
Alexis Brown (Baylor),
Florence Caron (Penn State),
Smilla Kolbe (North Florida),
Jaida Ross (Oregon),
Isabella Whitaker (Arkansas) and
Roisin Willis (Stanford). Four of the seven first team veterans have a 4.00 GPA, either as an undergrad or in graduate school.
Two second team Academic All-America® picks join Johansson as three-time AAA members: Oklahoma State senior
Sivan Auerbach and Stanford graduate student
Zofia Dudek. Both Auerbach and Dudek were first team honorees in 2022-23 and 2023-24. Iowa State junior
Rachel Joseph joins Auerbach and Dudek on the second team. Joseph was a third team choice last year.
San Diego State junior
Jenna Fee Feyerabend and Oregon senior
Klaudia Kazimierska are the only repeat selections on the third team. Feyerabend is one of five third team members with a 4.00 GPA, either as an undergraduate or in grad school. Both student-athletes made the second team in 2023-24.

NCAA Division II
A graduate student from The Woodlands, Texas,
Brynn King won the NCAA Division II outdoor national championship in the pole vault this spring. She was undefeated during the outdoor campaign with four wins in four tries, including a triumph at the 97th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays. She broke the all-time NCAA outdoor pole vault record in the Texas event with a mark of 4.75 meters (15 feet, seven inches).
The East Coast Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year, King represented the United States in the 2024 Paris Olympics. A four-time NCAA champion (two indoor, two outdoor), King is the only student-athlete in Division II history to surpass 15 feet in the pole vault. She holds a 3.85 GPA in RWU’s strategic leadership graduate program. King finished her undergraduate work with a 4.00 GPA, earning an exercise science degree.
Thirteen of the 45 members of the Academic All-America® Division II women’s track and field/cross country teams sport a sterling 4.00 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school. The 15 first team members have an average undergraduate GPA of 3.94.
Ten student-athletes, including five on the first team, are repeat selections on the Academic All-America® Division II women’s track and field/cross country team. Both Seattle Pacific graduate student
Annika Esvelt and Indianapolis senior
Zoe Pentecost receive their third AAA award. Esvelt is a back-to-back first team member after making the second team in 2021-22. A third team choice this year, Pentecost made the second team as a junior and the third team as a sophomore.
The remaining eight repeat selections include
Katherine Higgins (CSU Pueblo),
Anna Igims (Slippery Rock),
Klaudia O’Malley (Grand Valley State),
Kylie Ray (Findlay),
Kiera Blankinship (Harding),
Rosie Fordham (Alaska Fairbanks),
Erica Schamel (Pittsburg State) and
Blakelee Winn (Pittsburg State). Higgins, Igims, O’Malley and Ray join Esvelt on the first team.
The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist the College Sports Communicators with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Division II Academic All-America® program.

Nikki Boon is a two-time Academic All-America® first team selection. She concluded her Emory career in the best way, winning the NCAA Division III national championship in the outdoor heptathlon. Boon won the D3 national title in the indoor pentathlon during the winter.
The USTFCCCA South/Southeast Region Field Athlete of the Year during both the indoor and the outdoor seasons, Boon claimed three first team All-American awards as a senior. In addition to her two multi-event honors, she was a first team indoor All-American in the 4x400 meter relay. Academically, Boon has a 4.00 graduate GPA in biological and biomedical science. She plans to pursue her Ph.D. in neuroscience.

A sophomore from the Ukraine,
Alina Boshchuk , a University of the Cumberlands standout, collected five first team All-American trophies in 2024-25: cross country, indoor 5000 meters and DMR, and outdoor 5000 and 10,000 meters.
Boshchuk and her Patriot teammates won the NAIA national championship in indoor track and field in 2025. During the indoor event, Boshchuk finished third in the 5000 meters. She joined three teammates to take fifth place in the Distance Medley Relay.
Boshchuk won three Mid-South Conference individual or relay championships as a sophomore: cross country, indoor DMR and outdoor 5000 meters. Academically, Boshchuk has a 4.00 GPA with her business administration major.
Over her career, Boshchuk is a program-best nine-time NAIA All-American, including capturing the 10k national title as a freshman. She broke the program’s 5k (17:19.3) and 6k (20:49.5) records during cross country as Boshchuk won the MSC Championships for the second straight year. She is the second runner in program history to earn MSC Runner of the Year honors in back-to-back seasons.
Six of the 21 members of the Academic All-America® NAIA women’s track and field/cross country teams hold a perfect 4.00 GPA in their undergraduate work. The 12 first team selections have an average undergraduate GPA of 3.92.
Four first team student-athletes are repeat choices on the Academic All-America® NAIA women’s track and field/cross country team. Olivet Nazarene senior
Hannah Antkoviak leads this group with her third recognition. She made the second team as both a sophomore and a junior.
In addition to Boshchuk and Antkoviak, Taylor teammates
Abigail Mays and
Noel VanderWall are also repeat selections. VanderWall is a two-time first team Academic All-America® pick, while Mays was a second team choice in 2023-24.
The NAIA Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NAIA national governance structure to assist the College Sports Communicators with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 NAIA Academic All-America® program.
