GREENWOOD, Indiana – Four standouts on the court and in the classroom — University of North Carolina’s Reese Brantmeier, Mississippi College’s Emily Buchanan, Emory University’s Emily Kantrovitz and Morningside University’s Line Jensen — highlight the 2025-26 Academic All-American women’s tennis team selected by the College Sports Communicators, announced today.
 
Brantmeier (Division I), Buchanan (Division II), Kantrovitz (Division III), and Jensen (NAIA) have each been named Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year for their respective divisions.
 

NCAA Division I

Reese Brantmeier, a senior from Whitewater, Wisconsin, has a 3.95 GPA, majoring in Exercise Science and Studio Arts. She repeated as an Academic All-America® team member of the year. Brantmeier was the recipient of the NCAA Division I Women's Tennis NCAA Elite 90 award and was the ACC’s Women’s Tennis Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. Ranked No. 2 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) in singles, Brantmeier wrapped up an All-America season with a 16-3 mark at the No. 1 position for the Tar Heels. She went 21-4 in doubles during the spring, finishing the season at No. 4 nationally with Alanis Hamilton to earn a third All-America accolade from the ITA. 
 
Brantmeier is the first Tar Heel since 2017 to earn back-to-back ACC Player of the Year honors and won the 2025 NCAA singles national championship. She helped guide North Carolina to a No. 5 overall seed in the 2026 NCAA Tournament, with the Tar Heels reaching the National Quarterfinals for the second consecutive season. In 2024, she saw her season cut short due to injury, but earned ITA All-America honors, achieving a No. 9 ranking in singles with a 20-3 record and a 23-2 record in doubles action, where she was ranked No. 5 alongside Elizabeth Scotty. As a true freshman in 2023, Brantmeier ended the regular season ranked No. 9 in both singles and doubles, claiming ITA All-America honors.
 
Of the 18 members of the Academic All-America® NCAA Division I women’s tennis team NC State’s Mia Slama and the University of Arizona’s Josie Usereau boasted a perfect 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate work. The six members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.81.
 
Four student-athletes joined Brantmeier as repeat selections on the Academic All-America® Division I women’s tennis team – UCLA’s Anne-Christine Lutkemeyer, University of Georgia’s Anastasiia Lopata, University of Virginia’s Melodie Collard and Annabelle Xu. Lutkemeyer is a three-time selection.

NCAA Division II

Emily Buchanan, a junior from Jackson, Mississippi, has a 4.0 GPA, majoring in Psychology.  She was a First Team Gulf South Conference (GSC) selection, leading Mississippi College to a historic run to the NCAA National Semifinals.   Buchanan completed an All-America season with a 22-4 mark at the No. 1 position for the Choctaws and ranked No. 4 in both doubles and singles.  She went 20-6 with Ann Cabot Stockett, with five victories over ranked opponents. 
 
Buchanan was the 2025 ITA South Central Region Player to Watch at Dallas Baptist following a sophomore season where she went a perfect 25-0 in singles.  She was named both the Lone Star Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Year and the LSC Sportsmanship Player of the Year.   Buchanan guided the Patriots to their first-ever LSC Tournament Championship and a run to the Round of 16 of the NCAA Division II National Championships. As a true freshman in 2024, she won a team-high 20 singles matches and earned an All-LSC selection.
 
Nine of the 18 members of the Academic All-America® Division II women’s tennis teams boast a perfect 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school.  The seven members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.99.
 
There are six repeat selections – Rockhurst University’s Ella Coleman, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Amelie Gindl, Nova Southeastern University’s Kristyna Hranacova, Slippery Rock University’s Nicole Kempton, Adelphi University’s Katarina Liedbeck and University of West Florida’s Carlota Verdu.  Liedbeck is a three-time selection.
 
The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist the College Sports Communicators with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Division II Academic All-America® program.

NCAA Division III

Emily Kantrovitz, a senior from St. Louis, Missouri, has 3.98 GPA, majoring in Sociology.  She recently completed a stellar career with Emory, finishing tied for fifth all-time with 87 singles wins, and was named by the ITA as the Atlantic South Regional Senior Player of the Year.  Kantrovitz guided the Eagles to an NCAA Regional Berth and earned a spot in the NCAA Individual Championships.   She earned a University Athletic Association (UAA) First Team nod and was ranked No. 8 in singles, posting a 17-8 spring record.  In doubles, Kantrovitz and her teammate, Iris Berman, reached the National Semifinals at the ITA Cup in October and were ranked No. 3 nationally.
 
Kantrovitz spent most of her junior season ranked No. 1 nationally, earning an ITA All-America accolade in both singles and doubles.  She reached the national semifinals in singles at the NCAA Individual Championships and the ITA Cup.  During the 2025 season, Kantrovitz claimed 29 singles victories becoming the sixth to do so in program history. Kantrovitz claimed three ITA Al-America honors during her freshman and sophomore seasons, claiming the South Regional Singles Championships twice.
 
Six of the 17 members of the Academic All-America® Division III women’s tennis teams boast a perfect 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school.   The eight members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.88.
 
Including Kantrovitz there are four repeat selections on the Academic All-America® Division III women’s tennis team - Emory University’s Iris Berman, Gustavus Adolphus College’s Kaya De Bruijn, and MIT’s Artemis Pados.

NAIA

Line Jensen, a junior from Humlebaek, Denmark, has a 3.97 GPA, majoring in Political Science.  She helped guide Morningside to their fifth appearance in the NAIA National Tournament and a Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Tournament championship.  She earned All-GPAC honors at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles alongside Brooke Marshall.  Jensen won 33 of 36 singles matches dating back to this fall, and is ranked No. 4 in the latest ITA NAIA singles poll.  In doubles, she went 26-4 overall to earn a No. 7 national ranking.  In October, she became the first tennis player in GPAC history to win a singles match at the ITA Cup.
 
As a sophomore, she went 29-6 in singles, earning the ITA’s national most improved player award, and was a NAIA All-American.  In 2024, Jensen compiled a 25-3 singles record as well as a 15-5 doubles record, earning ITA Central Region Rookie of the Year, and was named the program’s first NAIA All-American in women’s tennis.
 
Marian University’s Michelle Irigoyen, Keiser University’s Alexandra Melnikova, University of the Cumberlands’ Marina Nagai, and Southeastern University’s Martina Picardi are repeat selections on the Academic All-America® NAIA women’s tennis team.  Nagai is a three-time selection.
 
Two of the 12 members of the Academic All-America® NAIA women’s tennis teams boast a perfect 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school.   The six members of the first team have an average undergraduate GPA of 3.89.
