AUSTIN, Texas – Senior Kenne Kessler of Hardin-Simmons University headlines the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division III Women’s soccer teams selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and announced Tuesday.
 
The Division III Google Cloud Academic All-America® program is financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2018-19 Division III Academic All-America® teams.
 
Kessler, a biology/pre-medicine major from Hardin-Simmons University, is a repeat selection as the Google Cloud Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year for women’s soccer.
  
Both Kessler and men's NCAA Division III Academic All-America® of the year selection Nikolas Angyal boast perfect 4.0 GPAs. The duo are two of 26 on the 67-member teams with at least a 4.0 GPA and two of 20 repeat honorees. Thirteen of the 20 repeat selections are women, as are 16 of the 26 honorees at 4.0 or better.
 
Kessler, from Highland Village, Texas, led the Cowgirls to an 18-1-2 record this season with 14 goals and seven assists for 35 points. After leading the nation in goals last season, she earned All-ASC honors for the fourth time in her career this fall and was named as the league’s Offensive Player of the Year for the second time in four seasons.
 
The first team women’s squad has a 3.98 average GPA with the 34 total honorees coming in at 3.95.
 
In addition to Kessler, the women’s repeat honorees include Lily Mueller, Hailey Nichols, and Emily Berzolla (MIT); Antoinette Abate (Johns Hopkins); Josey Meyer (Hardin-Simmons); Carson Pokorny (Christopher Newport); Rachel Bender (Baldwin Wallace); Ali Hicks (Rowan); Allison Stubbs (Coe); Julia Panko (Stevens Institute of Technology); Maddie Fleet (Franklin) and Jenna McKinney (Chicago).
