AUSTIN, Texas – University of Idaho senior guard Mikayla Ferenz headlines the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division I Women’s basketball teams selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and announced Monday.
Ferenz has been named the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year for Division I women’s basketball.
Ferenz, a mathematics major from Walla Walla, Washington, earns Google Cloud Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year honors after being named to the Academic All-America® first team in 2017-18. She boasts a perfect 4.0 GPA while being named to the All-Big Sky first team the last two seasons. She leads the Vandals in scoring, 22.5 per game, and assists, 4.0 per game.
Eight of the 15 members of the Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division I Women’s Basketball teams sport a perfect 4.0 GPA. The five members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.99, with the complete 15-member women’s team averaging a 3.93 GPA.
Along with Ferenz, the Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division I Women’s Basketball teams have four other repeat performers from last year’s teams – Carmen Grande (Ohio State University), Ciara Duffy (University of South Dakota), Clara Tapia (University of Wyoming), and Sara Rhine (Drake University).
