AUSTIN, Texas – Senior guard Isaac Asrat of Lubbock Christian University headlines the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division II Men's basketball teams, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2018-19 Division II Academic All-America® teams program.

Asrat, a mathematics major with a perfect 4.00 GPA, was named to the All-Heartland Conference first team this season, after earning an all-conference honorable mention selection during the 2017-18 season. He has scored in double figures 20 times during his senior campaign and has led the Chaps in scoring nine times.

The native of Plano, Texas, ranks second on the team in scoring (16.0 points per game), second in total rebounds (112), while leading the team in three-point field goals (51) and shooting 34.7 percent from three-point range (51-of-147). In his second season at Lubbock Christian after transferring from Texas A&M – Commerce, Asrat helped the Chaps match the program’s all-time regular season win total (20) and earn a spot in the 2019 NCAA Division II Tournament field.

Ten of the 15 members of the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division II Men’s Basketball teams have at least a 3.80 GPA, with two student-athletes maintaining a perfect 4.00 GPA. The five members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.97.

The Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division II Men’s Basketball teams have two repeat performers – Levi Holmes III (Saint Michael’s College) and Jakob Lowrance (University of Central Missouri) - from last year’s CoSIDA Academic All-America® teams.
